The G925TUVU3DOJ7 update is at around 96.22 MB in file size, and it is currently released via Over-The-Air (OTA) update in stages between today, November 16, and will last until December 4 To check whether your Galaxy S6 phone is among the first devices to get the update, just head to your device Settings > About device > Software update. Samsung is rolling out OTA updates to Galaxy Note 5 and S6 Edge Plus with build numbers N920TUVU2COJ5 and G928TUVU2COJ5, respectively.
As per the official changelog, the update brings support for Gear VR to both the devices along with security patches and various bug fixes and improvements.
In case you don’t know, Samsung Gear VR is a virtual reality device by Samsung, in which you can put your Samsung device and see videos, movies, etc. in a fully immersive theatre like experience. The COJ5 update brings support for Gear VR to T-Mobile Note 5 and S6 Edge Plus, but to take benefit of it, you need to purchase the Samsung Gear VR separately.
The updates are already on the roll as we speak. If you haven’t received the OTA update notification yet on your T-Mobile Note 5 or S6 Edge Plus, go to Settings > About phone > Software updates section and manually check for the update.
For the rooted users, we wouldn’t yet recommend to install the OTA update to either of the devices. Chances are good that the OJ5 OTA update will break root on your T-Mobile Note 5 and S6 Edge Plus.
If you care about root access, we’d recommend you to wait for the folks over at xda to confirm if the newer builds are easily rootable with the previous rooting methods (custom kernels), or a new custom kernel will be required for the latest build. If a new custom kernel with SELinux set to Permissive is indeed required, then it’ll be better for you to wait for the developers to build one before install the OJ5 OTA update.
We know you are holding out for Marshmallow update for your AT&T Note 5, but today isn’t the day you get it even though you are going to receive an update notification today. A new 5.1.1 update is rolling out today for the Note 5 at AT&T with build no. ending with AOJ1 (full build no. isG920AUCU1AOJ1). The update’s size is 119-132 MB but it could easily vary depending on your current build number. It’s based on Android 5.1.1, not 6.0.
We expect Samsung to roll our Note 5 Marshmallow update soon too, with December end release most likely timing for this to happen.
The official changelog for the AOJ7 update is available from AT&T, and it doesn’t include anything spectacular but because you would want to know it in full, and we have it, here it is.
Support for additional Gear VR features
Support for Android for Work (AfW)
Enhanced support for the Samsung keyboard accessory
Updated Samsung Knox to version 2.5.1
Other general fixes
To check for an update now on your device, go to Settings > About device > Software update, and then tap on ‘check for update’ button.
It’s a small update, one that you could easily skip if you just don’t wanna update the device for the moment.
Odin PC software — Link | File: Odin-3-10-7.zip (1.03 MB)
How to Root
Step1. Download Odin and Stock Auto Root kernel file from above. [For T-Mobile and Canadian Galaxy S6 Edge Plus sets, Kernel 2 is recommended.]
Step2. Install Galaxy S6 Edge+ driver (method 1 there!) first of all. Double click the .exe file of drivers to begin installation. (Not required if you have already done this.)
Step 3.Extract the Odin file. You should get this file, Odin3 v3.10.7.exe (other files could be hidden, hence not visible).
Step 4.Disconnect your Galaxy S6 Edge+ from PC if it is connected.
Step 5. Enable OEM unlock on your device.
Go to Settings > About device. And then tap on build no. 7 times or until your get the message ‘You’re now a developer’.
Go back to Settings, scroll down, and tap on ‘Developer options’.
Look for ‘Enable OEM unlock’ and use its toggle to enable it. Accept the warning by tapping on OK button.
— Also make sure you have disabled the Find My Mobile option completely in Settings > Lockscreen and security settings.
Step 6. Boot Galaxy S6 Edge+ into download mode:
Power off your Galaxy S6 Edge+. Wait 6-7 seconds after screen goes off.
Press and hold the three buttons Power + Home + Volume down together until you see warning screen.
Press Volume Up to continue to download mode.
Step 7. Double click on extracted file of Odin, Odin3 v3.10.7.exe, to open the Odin window, as shown below. Be careful with Odin, and do just as said to prevent problems.
Step 8.Connect your Galaxy S6 Edge+ to PC now using USB cable. Odin should recognize your Galaxy S6 Edge+. It’s a must. When it recognizes, you will see Added!! message appearing in the Log box in bottom left, and the first box under ID:COM will also show a no. and turn its background blue. Look at the pic below.
You cannot proceed until you get the Added!! message, which confirms that Odin has recognized your device.
If you don’t get Added!! message, you need to install/re-install drivers again, and use the original cable that came with the device. Mostly, drivers are the problem (look at step 2 above).
You can try different USB ports on your PC too, btw.
Step 9.Load the stock auto root kernel file into Odin. For this, click the AP button on Odin and the select the kernel file in .tar format.
Step 10. Make sure Re-partition checkbox is NOT selected, under the Options tab. Don’t use PIT tab either. Go back to Log tab btw, it will show the progress when you hit start button in next step.
Step 11. Click the Start button on Odin now to start flashing the firmware on your Galaxy S6 Edge+. Wait till installation is finished, after which your Galaxy S6 Edge+ will reboot automatically. You’ll get PASS message as show below upon successful installation from Odin.
If Odin gets stuck at setup connection, then you need to do this all again. Disconnect your device, close Odin, boot device into download mode again, open Odin, and then select the firmware and flash it again as said above.
If you get FAIL in the top left box, then also you need to flash the firmware again as stated just above.
Step 12. Install the SuperSU app from the play store. Open it, and you will have root access.
That’s it. Enjoy the Root access on your Galaxy S6 Edge+!

Android Factory Reset Protection (FRP) is a new feature to protect your device which has been added to several Samsung devices that are running Android OS 5.1 or higher. allows you to set up your device to prevent other people from using it if it’s been reset to factory settings without your permission. For example, if your device is lost, stolen, flashed, or wiped, only someone with your Google account or screen lock information can perform a factory data reset and use the device. When a device is factory reset, the device will not be able to be setup without the user entering the Google Account associated with the device (for hard reset) or screen lock information (for reset in Settings menu). Important! You must set up a Google account in order to utilize the FRP feature. It is highly recommended that you set a secure screen lock on your device. How do i know if my device have FRP LOCK Feature? The availability of the FRP feature is dependent on your carrier and device model. To see if you have the FRP feature, follow these steps: From the Home screen, touch Apps -> Settings -> Lock screen and security. Note: If you have a Galaxy S6, touch Apps -> Settings -> Lock screen and security -> Find My Mobile. If the Reactivation Lock feature is not shown, then you have the FRP feature.
